Amist some very stressful times for homeowners, we have some good news for those who are worried about making their mortgage payments. Canadian mortgage insurers are backing the current crisis and are working with our lenders to develop policies to either skip or defer mortgage payments (up to 6-months). However, it’s important to know that these are on a case-by-case basis so please, reach out to your lenders directly. You also may not receive an answer right away. As each case is different, it may take 1-3 business days for a response.

In order to make this easier for you, here is a list of lender contact information that you can use to get in touch with your mortgage lender:

What You Need to Know:

Phone lines are currently very busy, so expect to wait at least 20-30 minutes for a representative. While you wait, we encourage you to review the Government of Canada website for updated information about financial or business aid. Many representatives will ask if you have reviewed this information. See information here.

As always, feel free to reach out to talk about what other financial options might be available to you right now. We’re here to help you navigate the next few months.
