Riverbend is bounded by Glenmore Trail to the north, Deerfoot Trail to the west and the Bow River valley to the south, near Quarry Park.

Mostly detached homes from the 1980s, with some townhomes. A lot of them have been renovated, so condition changes from street to street. Compare updates, not just age, when you look at prices.
Schools
Riverbend School (CBE, K to 6) and Holy Angels (Calgary Catholic, K to 6) are in the community.
Parks, shopping and amenities
Carburn Park, on Riverview Drive SE, is Riverbend's backyard: 135 hectares along the Bow River with ponds for fishing and paddle boats, outdoor skating in winter, and pathways that join the Bow River pathway system. Quarry Park's YMCA and shops are close, and Southcentre and Chinook malls are a short drive.
Getting around
Glenmore Trail and Deerfoot Trail get you downtown in about 15 to 20 minutes. Buses connect to Chinook station.
Who it suits
Families wanting an established neighbourhood with schools in the community and river access.
A bit of history
Carburn Park used to be a gravel pit. It is named after Carburn Aggregates, the company that dug the ponds, and the land was once part of Senator Patrick Burns' holdings. Today it is one of the quieter river parks in the city, and you can walk there from most of Riverbend.
